Advice on which camera to buy for nature photography? I want to purchase a new digital camera for my photography. I am looking for a more amateur/professional camera for nature photography. I need one that can do the following, preferably: One that takes very high res images. One with a good/fast zoom since I take a lot of close-up pictures of very small things and landscapes you cannot get real close too. Something that can take a little movement. Be a small tremor from me, or movement from the subject. Would prefer a view finder then a screen, but not a must. Something that can take a little moisture and some shaking. I hike a lot for photography, so it could get bumpy. I am also in the south, so the humidity is very high here all year round. I am not going to take it out in a rainstorm (it would be nice if I could), but a little moisture is going to be inevitable. I am looking to spend around $350-$500 on the camera. Anyone know of a model that is good for this? Any personal experiences with it? Any sample photos? Help?
What lenses should I buy with a Canon EOS 30D for nature photography? I'm thinking of buying the Canon EOS 30D but don't know what lenses I should buy with it. My interest is in nature photography (mountains, beach, wildlife) but have never invested in a good camera. I don't know a whole lot about specifications for different lenses and need some good recommendations for starting photography as a hobby.
I want to enter in an OFFICIAL nature photography contest? Does any one know of any OFFICIAL nature photography contests??? I want my photos to be safe. I'm not a profesonal I'm just an amature hobby photographer but I love some of my pictures and it would be fun to enter. However I'm a little afraid of putting my favorite photos on the internet, I know they are not amazing but, I wouldn't want someone else to have my pictures, unless i sold it to them(if they are good enough to sell). Which brings me to the other part of my question, does anyone know of any magazines of people that would buy nature photography? Thank you for any help.

What is a good digital camera for outdoor"nature" and portrait photography? My wife and I are looking for a nice digital camera. She would like it for taking routine pictures(vacation, birthdays, etc...). I love outdoor photography, I also would like it for taking family pictures. I have a Nikon N70 and have been very happy with it but would like to go digital. Any help would be appreciated.
What is the best digital camera for nature (beach and redwood) photography? The primary use would be for nature photographs (beach and redwoods) and the occasional pictures of friends (red eye bad). I want a point-and-shoot for portability and because of money restrictions. I have about $250, but could stretch it too 400 if the camera is significantly worth it. The size/shape of the camera isn't as important as the quality of the pictures, but I do like the square no bulges of some of these point-and-clicks. I had a canon S500 which I was happy with, but it was stolen. Any suggestions or tips? Should I get a used S500 again from Ebay? Or is there something way better out there for me? I was also looking at new Kodaks? Help?
Can I sell my nature photography? and how/where? I've been trying for the past several years to sell prints (framed and unframed) of my nature photos ( http://acluckhardt.deviantart.com/gallery/ ) but haven't had much success. I live in a small town and feel like I can't get my market. I really want to build my business around selling these prints and build up a substantial amount of sales. If you have a minute, please take a look at some of those samples and let me know if such a plan is even possible... where should I sell? Eventhough I don't have experience with portraits, should I plan to start taking local outdoor portraits? Thanks!
Starting into Photography, What is the best program for editing digital photos? I have been told that Adobe Photo shop is the way to go but I really would like some input before I drop all that cash. I am looking into Portrait and nature photography. I would like to use one program only and I want to be able to do all sorts of things, for instance, adding hints of color to B&W images, changing filters etc... Any input would be helpful. If anyone has used Adobe tips would be welcomed too! Thank you so much.
How to copyright photography to sell on ebay? I absolutely love to take nature photography. I feel like my work is good enough to sell, and I would like to give it a try on ebay. I don't want anyone to steal my images from there though so I am wondering what the best way is to copyright my material. I've seen people put a word over the image so people won't want to try to take the image off the site to use as their own. Also, If someone does buy one of my pics, how do I copyright the actual photograph?
What lenses to buy for nature photography for a Nikon D200? I am about to buy a Nikon D200 for my backpacking trip in Canada. This will be my first digital camera and I would really like to get some nice lenses. I have been looking around and so far I think what I would like is the 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor for my main, 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor for a macro, 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D ED-IF AF Zoom-Nikkor for a wide angle, 85mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor for a telephoto, and 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor and for a fisheye. Are these the best choices? I am not up to date on the Nikon equipment and am not sure if I am making the right choices.
building a nature garden? i live with my folks (due to lack of money, not out of want!) and they have quite a reasonable sized garden. however, they are planning to pave most of it, and what areas they don't pave are going to build sheds and pergolas etc on. i'm getting into nature photography quite heavily, and wanted to attract alot of UK wildlife into our garden, but i'm having trouble finding a way to do this seeing as they're going to be wiping out most of the nature from our garden!! does anyone have any tips on bringing animals into a garden such as this?

Has anyone here done any freelance photography? This is a field I would love to get into but have no idea where to start. How would I get started? What is the money like? Are there big differences between sports, lanscapes or nature photography where the money is concerned?
wildlife/nature photography? Ok my uncle told me that there is a wildlife/nature thing that you can send pictures into and if they like your pictures they will pay you for them and pay you to take more pictures for them. Does anyone else know more about this? or how you can get into something like that
SLR camera and lense for nature & wildlife photography...? I'm looking for a serious amateur/professional camera for nature landscapes. I also want to do a little wildlife photography, but mainly landscapes. Do I need two different lenses for this? I don't want to get two different lenses, but from all that I've read, these two types of photography require very different lenses. Is there a lense I can get that will cover both landscapes and up-close wildlife without compromising too much? I'm looking at the Canon 30D EOS camera to go with the lense because I keep seeing good reviews on it, but let me know if you think I should get something else. Thanks!
Need help with buying a camera? I'm turning 16 in July and my mother is going to get me something big. I want to get a digital camera. My mom is willing to spend around $1000 for it. I need you guys to show me some cameras around or less that area for someone like me who is really serious about this. I'm thinking about using it mostly for nature photography. And this is my first time. I need it to be good, and kinda easy. It doesnt need to be too easy because I am good at figuring things out thx for the help
DSLR camers for nature/ wildlife photography? Right now, I am using a Sony H9 point and shoot for my nature and wildlife photography. It does OK for the most part and the 15X zoom is great for most wildlife shots. since I mainly just post my photos to my outdoor blog ( http://www.afreshpath.com ) the resolution and general quality are ok. What I would like though is to find a DSLR camera and lens that would take photos of high enough quality for large prints and still keep the weight factor to a minimum...lots of extreme hiking is involved with wildlife photography! Your recommendations are appreciated!
what is the best film for action/sports photography? A friend of mine asked me to take a few pics of him playing football but I usually stick with landscape/nature photography so I'm not sure what film I should use or speed for my lens (I have a Nikon N75 and the AF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens). Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Good photography school in Arizona, Phoenix area? Anyone know of a good photography school in Arizona, in the Phoenix/valley area (we live in Mesa)? My husband would like to pursue formal education in photography -- he loves nature photography but is interested in making a living in other forms as well. I know Tucson has the Center for Creative Photography, but it's too far away. Do they have a satellite program, or are there others out this way?
Are there any photography clubs or enthusiasts in South Wales? I'm looking for any photography clubs in South Wales to join, preferably near Ystrad Mynach/Caerphilly. Alternatively any photography enthusiasts that would like a camera buddy, maybe you could teach me a thing or two! I prefer landscape/nature/sports photography as I have little to no experience with portraiture - although I'd love to learn how to take good portraits.
