Wedding Photography? I am trying to start free lancing with wedding photography. The camera I am using will be a Nikon D80 with Photshop CS2. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what lens, flash and anyother things i could use for this, Aswell as any tips or techniques on shooting and editing.

What basic equipment is needed for for wedding photography? I would consider myself a fairly serious amateur photographer and have mainly shot landscapes. My friend saw some photos that I had taken and asked if I could take her wedding pictures. I told her that I was in no way a professional and that I could not guarantee the "perfect" wedding portraits. She said that she knew that and wanted me to take them anyway. Now I am wondering what type of lighting and lenses would best suit wedding photography. I can probably think of some things but I just thought I would ask so that I don't miss anything that would make my pictures better than they would be otherwise. Thank you for your help.

How much is a good per hour rate to charge for Wedding Photography? I was just wondering what I should charge a friend of mines sister to photograph her wedding. I have gone to school for photography and have worked at sports photo places and the most I have made there was 14. Now I think I should charge somewhere around there but honestly I really don't know and I was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out. I have looked online and I only can really get an average yearly salary for wedding photographers.

How do you become successful in the wedding photography business? I started a small wedding photography business. I have placed business cards in local bridal shops. but I can't seem to generate any customers at this time. No one is calling, I can't afford the $1,000 -$1600 to enter bridal shows. Starting wedding photography, please help with my questions.? I am getting ready to start wedding photography, can someone honestly tell me how much I can expect to make on average per month living between Los Angeles and San Diego? I would think being between 2 major cities, advertising on craigslist, and in the local papers, being part of a church group, I would do fairly well and should be able to pull between 3 and 7 weddings each month. Does this sound realistic? I have an SLR with a hot box and flash, other lighting equipment. I believe as far as equipment Im ready and will probably do the 3 weddings for almost free. I am and buisness minded I have ran my own buisness before so I know how to market myself, I also sold cars before, so I am good at building customer relations. wedding photography - urgent help and tips? my friend's mum has volunteered me (without asking me) to be the photographer at my friend's wedding in 2 months. The basis of her decision was that i am the only one she knows with a "fancy camera" (Nikon D40) and assumed i know what i am doing. WRONG! I am still taking photography classes and only been doing so for about 7months. I understand about ISO, Apertures lenses etc but i have never photographed a wedding before. Despite my best efforts i can't get out of this obligation bestowed upon me so my only choice is to learn how to photograph weddings (or do enough to wing it) in 2months. I don't think i'll need to do the formal shots, just ones where the bride is preparing, getting to the church, some ones of people eating cake etc and possibly a few group photos outside the church. Wet Weather Wedding Photography! HELP :(?
