- no, painting is the artistic equivalent to painting
- "Large Format photography the artistic and Zen"???? You need to be a little more clear what zen have to do with large format photography.
- No, I think it's the Roman Catholic of painting.
- Not at all. A Zen picture takes itself.
- Well it 's certainly a lot more visceral of an experience in comparison to other formats but in terms of it being anywhere near as visceral of an experience as painting it is not. In terms of the zen aspect, I suppose if motorcycle repair can be considered zen so can Large Format photography, although at times I think large format photography can be quite the exact opposite experience that zazen provides.
- No, but it's the opposite of digital photography. It is a slow process that people who do it really enjoy. The results are also like no other format because there is no grain and the negative is very sharp. This is also how photography started and the equipment and technique has changed very little.
- If you want to read about the idealistic approach to very high quality then read about Ansel Adams who was probably the gretest Landscape Photographer the world has evern known
