How do you differentiate between photography which is artistic, erotic or pornographic.?

2. A lot of it is perception, but to clarify; Using a feather is erotic using the entire chicken is pornographic.
3. Ahhh, I wouldnt use community standards. Everyone has there own opinion, and definition, depending on their own moral views. You will NEVER ever get a real consensus. For me, having no problems with nudity or eroticism, its just the feeling that I get when I look at the work. Pornography, for me generally, is an attempt by someone to arouse the basest sexual feelings. Art, eroticism, exotic art, for me generally, is a thought out piece, produced to arouse many different feelings, and thoughts. They can be negative, or positive feelings and thoughts, but they make you think beyond the basest of instincts. ::::::::::::Hey Antoni:::::::::::: Classic art is classic for a reason, and not even the people with poles stuck up their backsides can totally obliterate it, as much as they might try. We should take over the world. We would both be happier, hehe

5. What about the erotic sculptures in India and nepal? To most of us, it's Wall to Wall Non-Stop porn, but because it's part of the sub-continent's culture the rest of the world calls it "art". Sex is part of our culture, but most bedroom photography isn't considered art, it's straight-out Porn. In other words, the difference between art, erotica, and porn is a decision made by censorship authorities on a country to country basis. Stuff that can be seen on TV and billboards in Australia, is a criminal in Indonesia. We just have to live with what others decide is good for us!
6. If it turns me on, it's erotic. If it doesn't, it's pornographic.
