I am a photo major needing help with assignment?

This project is based on: Process – a systematic series of actions directed to some end; a continuous action, taking place in a definite manner. Semiotics – the study of signs and symbols as elements of communication. The signifier, or the object/image, leads to the signified, which is the associated meaning. For this project, consider how you gather your source materials, whether they are actively sought out, deliberately chosen, found, or happen by chance. You may use ANY material (within reason), incorporation of other artistic mediums, documentation of an action, use of participants, etc. The process may also be a springboard for the imagery that you gather. How would you tackle this project as a photography ma Then, create a complete composition in Photoshop, using the idea of semiotics to communicate your interpretation of your theme. Consider the relationships that are created by the imagery used, the various types of interpretation, and how different viewers may read the image

  1. I have a headache just from reading this. For process: Find a large wall area. Tape newspaper to it and then tape brightly colored construction paper over it. Photograph the construction paper and then take one exposure as each piece of construction paper is removed to expose the newspaper. Then one of the newspaper and one as each piece is removed and finally one of the wall. I'm not so sure about the second one. It almost sounds like a philosophy question, not a photography one. Maybe road signs? One showing a curve ahead and then the curve? One saying "Deer Crossing" and then wait until a deer actually approaches the road side? If I haven't been helpful perhaps you've at least gotten a chuckle or two.
  2. Those assignments sound more like they came from Cal Arts. Assignments like those would not have come from Brooks.
