What college courses would i have to take to get there? and im talking about wedding photography/ event photography. Does it pay well? Like enough to support yourself? Details would help me alot

- Photography does not pay the bills.... unless you make it BIG. It's like having a career as an actor. I would've majored in photography, but I knew that once I take courses in it, it won't be my hobby anymore. I won't love it anymore... You've gotta be realistic. Finding a real career as a photographer is not easy. And it doesn't pay well. Statistics show that for a photographer in 2002 the average annual salary was $24,040. The lowest 10% earned less than $14,640, the middle 50% between $17,740 and $34,910 while the highest 10% earned upwards of $49,920. For a photographer employed by a newspaper or periodical the average annual salary was $31,460, while in other professional and scientific services the average was $21,860. http://www.adigitaldreamer.com/articles/photography-salary.htm
- Well, you have to take pictures that are out of this world and that no one would think of o-o; getting the lighting right is key >_< it usually only pays well if you're a pro or work for a company o-o; you have to capture with style and sometimes go beyond breathtaking
- Look at these sites. http://www.artcenter.edu http://www.brooks.edu http://www.rit.edu
- It can pay very well - but you need to be excellent and very dedicated, 100+ hours a week is not uncommon but if you can get to the top end of weddings for example you can earn thousands... the same goes for other specialities... IF your work is worth that to your clients. Having said that most photographers are average and the vast majority of people who try to get into photography fail to make a living... EVERY aspect of your game needs to be together, that includes business skills, pricing, marketing, presentation, financial control... as well as photography!
