The assisant's duties would include managing equipment, arranging subjects to photo, and taking some pictures. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

- Are you a photo student or what is your experience in photography? It depends A LOT on what city and area you live in and what your experience is. Is this a one time event or are you going to be hired to assist on a full-time basis. Give me some details and I'll help you establish what to ask for but know that you could walk in and this person may have in there mind already what they plan on giving you which will put you in the position of deciding if it's worth your time for that amount of money but figuring in also how much there is to gain from assisting an established and busy photographer which will get you out there on your own quicker. I'll give you some tips on how to blow them away because you had the right things ready before they ever asked for them which will make you very desire able which makes you very worth the money you ask.
- There is a difference between assistants and second shooters. AFAIK, most assistants don't get much opportunity to shoot. The pay depends on where you work, mostly. In my area, I'm afraid assistants don't get paid too much. (Think under $200 for a long day, sometimes a lot under.)
- So you want the real answers on how to assist with the pros? 'The Photographer's Assistant ' by John Kieffer I very highly recomend that you order this book (from amazon.com) and read it ! READ ALL OF IT !!!!!!!!!! just a tip--->Your best chances for getting in a photographers studio is in the big cities .
- I was an assistant to a photographer when I started out, and I made somewhere between diddly and squat. I did it for a practicum for college. Which means he didn't have to pay me anything, just give me a grade. Every photographer would love to have help, but not all can pay wages for it.
